Exponents

LI: To explain what exponents are.

 

This week we were learning about exponents. Exponents are useful because the example in our DLO shows that it is easier to write 3x3x3. Exponents tells us how many times we need to multiply a number. This DLO shows how we used our knowledge of exponents to collaboratively share our thinking.

 LI:To use smart searching skills to find out about pulleys.   We have been learning about simple machines. There are 6 different types of simple machines. This week we learnt about pulleys. Our DLO shows our labelled diagrams of a pulley system. A labelled diagram is an information picture. Pulleys are A pulley is a wheel, with a grooved rim for carrying a line. You pull one end to raise a weight at the other end.

Maths

  LI: To define the terms and understand the properties of 2D shapes.     Our challenge today was to find the definitions of a 2D shape then draw the shape. I chose to use the shapes tool because it gave us more of a challenge rather than just drawing it. I found this really interesting and fun because I got to learn new words relating to Geometry, and 2D shapes while being able to collaborate with my friends.
