The Olympics is currently happening, our maths group have 8 Olympic challenges for us to complete. This challenge was about Michael Phelps and the events he competed in. Our questions were how far did he swim and how many strokes it took to get him there.

 LI:To use smart searching skills to find out about pulleys.   We have been learning about simple machines. There are 6 different types of simple machines. This week we learnt about pulleys. Our DLO shows our labelled diagrams of a pulley system. A labelled diagram is an information picture. Pulleys are A pulley is a wheel, with a grooved rim for carrying a line. You pull one end to raise a weight at the other end.

Maths

  LI: To define the terms and understand the properties of 2D shapes.     Our challenge today was to find the definitions of a 2D shape then draw the shape. I chose to use the shapes tool because it gave us more of a challenge rather than just drawing it. I found this really interesting and fun because I got to learn new words relating to Geometry, and 2D shapes while being able to collaborate with my friends.
